At Lyndhurst Pastry Shop, we strive to make customer interactions as pleasant and helpful as possible, but did you know there are a few “hacks” you can use next time you plan a purchase from our family bakery?
- Pre-Order:
Need to pick up 50 cannoli but don’t have the time to wait for them to be freshly filled? Need 6 quarts of Italian ice but don’t want to hold up the line? Order ahead! We encourage customers to call at least a day in advance to place their orders for cakes, bread, pastries and even Italian Ice.
- Opt out on Powdered Sugar:
We all have busy schedules, and sometimes we pick up our pastries a day before they are going to be served and eaten. As long as they are kept refrigerated, they will stay completely fine and delicious, however there is one major thing you can do to ensure the freshness of the desserts. That would be to ask for no powdered sugar on those pastries that you do not plan to eat right away. While the fluffy sugar is beautiful and tasty, overtime it can soak into the pastries and make them feel a bit soggy. So next time you are picking up pastries in advance, tell the LPS employee that you do not want powdered sugar.

- Buy Cannoli Cream and Cannoli Shells Separately for Travel:
Traveling with cannoli? Did you know that we sell the cream and shells separately for this exact reason? To ensure your cannoli stay as fresh as possible, order the cream in either a pint or quart container and the shells on the side so you can fill them when you arrive at your destination. 1 pint of cannoli cream roughly fills about 1 dozen mini cannoli or 6 large. You can even freeze the cream to keep it as fresh as possible. Some customers buy the cream with no shells and simply enjoy it on its own, with fruit or on other sweet treats.
